Our MISSION

The purpose of the Timber Pointe Charitable Foundation is to generate and manage funds to support camping, outdoor recreation and outdoor education programs benefiting children and adults with disabilities or special needs and their families. The primary objective of the Foundation is fund development to support capital projects and improvements at Timber Pointe Outdoor Center. This in order that individuals with disabilities and special needs, their families and the community-at-large can enjoy safe, modern and accessible facilities.

Making outdoor recreation and respite opportunities accessible to individuals and families with special needs.

Owned and operated by Easterseals Central Illinois, Timber Pointe Outdoor Center is a beautiful, wooded 160-acree facility located on Lake Bloomington, IL, and is accredited by the American Camp Association. More than five miles of paths and roadways wind through hardwood and pine forests providing easy access to wildlife habitats, cabins & lodges, overnight tent sites, & program areas.

 

This year more than 1,600 campers with a broad range of disabilities and special needs will benefit from the unique resources that Timber Pointe is able to provide during the summer season.  Hundreds more participate in respite sessions, educational experiences, and specialized programming through the year. From safe & accessible facilities to the caring and capable assistance of counselors, program staff, & medical personnel, Timber Pointe is designed to meet the unique needs of each individual and their family
