our mission
The purpose of the Timber Pointe Charitable Foundation is to generate and manage funds to support camping, outdoor recreation and outdoor education programs benefiting children and adults with disabilities or special needs and their families.
The primary objective of the Foundation is fund development to support capital projects and improvements at *Timber Pointe Outdoor Center. This in order that individuals with disabilities and special needs, their families and the community-at-large can enjoy safe, modern and accessible facilities.
Brief History
The Timber Pointe Charitable Foundation was established as an independent 501 (c) (3) organization in 1996 for the sole purpose of securing funding and resources in support of development and operation of facilities and programming at Timber Pointe Outdoor Center.
The Timber Pointe Charitable Foundation was conceived and original bylaws drafted by Don D Rood Sr. and David Bateman early in 1996. While the charter members of the Foundation board held their first meeting on June 17th 1996, the Foundation was formally recognized as a 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization on February 11, 1997.
ABOUT US TODAY
The Timber Pointe Charitable Foundation has no paid staff and is governed by a local board of directors comprised of various community and business leaders dedicated to providing funding in support of the development and operation of facilities and programming at Timber Pointe Outdoor Center. In addition, Foundation board members provide consultation, hands on participation, oversight and evaluation specific the initiatives that it supports.
